Students in a summer program at Russell Cave Christian Church in the Winburn community received hands-on training in conceiving and producing a public service announcement and a documentary about their experience. The students were aided by graduates of the Filmmaking Certificate Program at Bluegrass Community and Technical College and some media professionals. The video — posted on Kentucky.com and www.facebook.com/HLopinions — has been entered into a contest sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The Winburn program was supported by the Violence Prevention Initiative at St. Joseph Hospital/Kentucky One.
