Joseph Courtland Johnson Jr., 18, of Versailles was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout on May 17. His Court of Honor date was Aug. 4. He is a member of Troop No. 1784.

Joseph was a member of the 2012 graduating class of Woodford County High School. He will be a Provost Scholar at Wittenberg University this fall. Joseph is the son of Joseph and Lisa Johnson of Versailles.

For his Eagle Scout leadership service project, Joseph designed and built a more efficient system for food storage at the Ministerial Association of Woodford County Soup Kitchen.
