Bourbon County: Big Orange Preview draws 500

The late Delza Maggard honored. U.S. Rep. Ben Chandler, D-Versailles, presented the family of Delza Maggard with a flag flown in Maggard's honor over the U.S. Capitol. The legacy of Maggard, who died in December 2001, was one of service to Bourbon County youth, in particular as longtime executive director of the Paris-Bourbon County YMCA. Those present, from left, were host cheerleader Jayde Marks, Chandler, Dallas Maggard (Delza Maggard's widow), Raymond Maggard (brother), host cheerleader Alyssa Brown, Robert Maggard (son), Aaron Maggard (grandson), Cody Maggard (grandson) and Delza "Butch" Maggard (son).

An estimated 500 guests attended last week's Big Orange Preview at Paris High School's Blanton Collier Stadium, and several special guests were honored. The Big Orange Preview is an annual event where the fall sports teams and band members are introduced.
