Rodneisha L. Murphy, 20, was charged with first-degree robbery Tuesday August 21, 2012.

The case against a Lexington woman accused of planning a robbery that resulted in a fatal shootout was sent Monday to a Fayette County grand jury.

Rodneisha L. Murphy, 20, is charged with first-degree robbery. Police said she planned the robbery of Isaias Lopez-Bustamente on Aug. 20 at the Creekside South Apartments on Devonport Drive.

Lopez-Bustamente was killed in the shootout. Two of Murphy's associates were charged with murder and first-degree robbery, and charges against a second juvenile were pending. They carried out the robbery, police said.

No testimony was heard during Monday's preliminary hearing. Typically, a detective takes the witness stand and discusses the case. However, Murphy's attorney, public defender Raul Kazee, said Murphy had waived her right to hear the evidence against her.

Alexander Burdette, 25, and a 16-year-old were charged with murder and first-degree robbery in the case. Charges are pending against a 17-year-old juvenile, police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said. The juveniles' identities have not been released.

Burdette and the 17-year-old were injured after Lopez-Bustamente opened fire on the alleged intruders. The teen was treated at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital.

Burdette's preliminary hearing was scheduled for Thursday.

Murphy and Burdette have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
