RICHMOND — The search for a new director for the Eastern Kentucky University Center for the Arts is on hold until university and community officials can determine who would be that person's boss.
Much of the discussion at Wednesday afternoon's meeting of the center's community operations board centered on a memorandum of understanding between the board and the university and who it said had authority over the director, including hiring and firing power. That issue came up in June when previous director Debra Hoskins left the center.
Administration of the center is a joint venture of the university, Madison County and the cities of Richmond and Berea.
Board chairman Harry Moberly said he believed questions about the memorandum of understanding would be resolved by the board's next meeting, Oct. 17.
