Lex-Care: Widow needs water heater

September 26, 2012

One request submitted by Angie Gibbs, a case manager at the Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center, was received this week at Lex-Care.

Her client is a widow who needs $740.53 to replace her water heater. She lives alone and her only income is the Social Security death benefit that she receives. When her water heater broke, she was unable to afford a new one and turned to Gibbs for advice.

Once the water heater is paid for she will be able to manage on the death benefit and food stamps.
