Facing increased interest, Link-Belt Construction Equipment expanded its annual CraneFest event this year from three days to four.

On Friday, the Lexington company wrapped up the activities that attracted more than 1,000 crane owners, distributors and media.

"We had a pretty resounding response as far as the amount of people who were interested in coming," spokesman Casey Smith said. "We weren't going to be able to handle the greater amount for each day, so we added a fourth day."

There were representatives of distributors from Argentina, Brazil, Panama, South Africa, Trinidad and the United Kingdom.

The company offered demonstrations of its lineup of cranes manufactured in Lexington. The machines range in price from $400,000 to $2.4 million, according to a company statement.

Link-Belt also debuted new products, including the 200-ton 248 HSL and the 80-ton RTC-8080 Series II.

The company designs, manufactures and sells the cranes from its offices on Palumbo Drive, which were expanded in recent years.
