Fayette judge reschedules hearing for shooting suspect

Published: October 2, 2012

Malik Shabazz Johnson, the man charged with killing a Lexington teenager last month, will be in Fayette District Court for a preliminary hearing on Friday.

Johnson, 20, appeared briefly in court Tuesday morning, and District Judge Kim Wilkie postponed the hearing until Friday. At that time, he will hear evidence to determine whether there is probable cause to send the cases to a grand jury for possible indictment.

Johnson has pleaded not guilty to murder in the Sept. 25 shooting of Jaleel Raglin, 16, at the Matador North apartment complex on Winburn Drive across the street from Winburn Middle School. Police arrested Johnson a few hours after the shooting.
