Hyden man dies in two-vehicle collision

A Hyden man died Wednesday night in a two-vehicle collision in Leslie County, police said.

Levi Lewis, 39, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision on Highway 421 by the Leslie County Coroner's Office, Kentucky State Police at Hazard said in a news release.

A preliminary investigation indicates that Lewis' vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a vehicle operated by Brittany Shell. Jennifer Short, a passenger in Lewis' vehicle, and Shell were flown to the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn.

Lewis was not wearing a seat belt, police said.
