Historic Willett Distilling Co. in Bardstown has joined the Kentucky Distillers' Association, the group announced Thursday.

Built in 1936 by Lambert Willett, the distillery was bought in 1984 by Even Kulsveen, a native of Norway and a son-in-law of Thompson Willett, who had retired from the business. Kulsveen restored the distillery, and in January, it began producing bourbon again.

Family owned and operated, Willett has eight traditional rickhouses, a gift shop and a tasting bar, and it soon will add a bed-and-breakfast with views of the Nelson County hills.

The distillery's boutique brands include Willett Pot Still Reserve, Willett Family Estate Bottled Bourbon and Rye, Noah's Mill, Rowan's Creek, Johnny Drum, Old Bardstown, Pure Kentucky and Kentucky Vintage. For more information, go to Kentuckybourbonwhiskey.com.
