A man was arrested Friday after stabbing his 78-year-old grandfather in the neck, Danville police said.
Charles Vanhook, 37, was charged with attempted murder and kidnapping, Danville Police Chief Tony Gray said in a news release.
At about 2 p.m. Friday, officers responded to the 2500 block of Goggin Road, where a neighbor reported that Harold Long had been assaulted by his grandson.
Long was taken by helicopter to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital for treatment of several stab wounds to the neck, the release said.
Vanhook was taken into custody without incident and was lodged in the Boyle County jail, Gray said.
