Lex-Care: Family of six needs help with rent

Published: October 10, 2012

Mary Jo Dendy, a case manager at the Family Resource Center at a Fayette County elementary school, submitted the following case to Lex-Care this week.

Dendy is assisting a family of six that needs $750 to pay their rent. The couple and their four children moved to Lexington to care for the wife's terminally ill father.

The house they shared with him was foreclosed on and the family moved into a rental house. The husband took time off to assist with managing the details before and after the death of his father-in-law. The loss of his income during that time caused the family to fall behind on their rent.

The wife is a full-time student in nursing school. The husband has returned to work full time with a local electric company.
