Jessamine County: Asbury is No. 4 in magazine's list of top colleges in the South

October 10, 2012

U.S. News and World Report has named Asbury University fourth in the Regional Colleges South category. Asbury is the only Kentucky school represented in the top 15. It's the second top-five ranking for the university in the past two years. Asbury was ranked fifth in 2011.

Asbury's average freshman retention rate of 79 percent in 2011 was ranked second, and its average graduation rate of 67 percent was the highest in the category.

The U.S. News ranking system began in 1983 and is based on indicators of academic quality, including graduation and retention rates, student selectivity, class size and financial resources, and it's weighted by researchers at U.S. News.
