A woman from Ewing, in Fleming County, died Wednesday morning when her pickup truck went off a road and struck a guard rail and a rock fence in Woodford County.

Robbie Rogers, 70, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release from the Versailles Police Department.

The wreck happened about 6:20 a.m. on the Bluegrass Parkway near the Kentucky River bridge, the news release said.

Rogers apparently was driving west on the parkway when her vehicle went off the road while she was turning. The truck hit a guardrail near the Lillards Ferry Road overpass, then continued across oncoming lanes and hit the rock fence.

Rogers was wearing a seat belt, and alcohol was not thought to be a factor in the crash. Police said they do not know what caused her car to go off the road.
