Shooting guard from Tennessee commits to Kentucky women's team

October 14, 2012

Jaycee Coe, considered one of the top shooters nationally, has committed to Kentucky, according to a report.

Coe told the Herald-Citizen newspaper that she accepted UK's offer this weekend after attending Big Blue Madness.

"I'm just so blessed to have this opportunity," Coe told her hometown paper in Cookeville, Tenn. "Kentucky has always been my dream school, and to get to play there is 10 times better."

The 6-foot junior from Jackson County (Tenn.) reportedly had offers from Georgia, Louisville, Middle Tennessee, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Tennessee Tech, Belmont and Vanderbilt.

In a summer scouting report, ESPN's said Coe, who is not ranked nationally yet, is one of the nation's premier shooters.

"Coming off the summer, Coe can make a strong case as the best shooter in the class of 2014," the scouting report said in August.

Coe has been voted to the Tennessee Sports Writers Association's All-State Team each of the last two years. She helped lead Jackson County to two straight Class A state tournament appearances.
