NAWBO Lexington will hold a candidate forum at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 16 at Sal's Chophouse on Tates Creek Road. Speakers include congressional candidates from Kentucky's Sixth U.S. House District as well as several state legislative candidates from the Lexington area. Cost: $20 members/$24 guests. Job seekers who are transitioning military personnel, veterans, members of the National Guard, reservists and their dependents will have an opportunity to meet nearly 30 employers at a job fair from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 17 at Northeast Christian Church, 900 Star Shoot Parkway, Lexington. The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government will hold its second Minority and Women Business Connection, a vendor fair to connect minority- and women-owned businesses with the government buyers who purchase services and goods, from 11:30 am.-2 p.m. Oct. 31.

Minority and women business owners can also learn about upcoming projects at the vendor fair, and representatives from government divisions will talk about upcoming projects at noon.

The event will be held in the third-floor conference room of the Phoenix Building, 101 East Vine Street. Parking will be available in the transit center on Vine Street. Registration is required in advance. Participants can register online at Lexingtonky.gov/MWBE.
