The Bluegrass Scenic Railroad and Museum in Versailles has acquired a second first-class passenger coach to add to its tourist train operation.
The stainless steel coach was built in 1939 and was once used in Amtrak service. The all-weather coach features individual plush reclining seats.
The Bluegrass Railroad offers train rides each weekend through October and is now preparing for its Halloween "Haunted" trains at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and Oct. 25, 26 and 27, and the Santa Claus trains at 2 p.m. Dec. 15, 16, 22 and 23. Go to Bluegrassrailroad.com for more information.
The Bluegrass Scenic Railroad and Museum is an all-volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history of railroading in Central Kentucky. Volunteers are welcome.
