Final furlong

■ Trainer Charlie Lopresti said Wednesday that multiple Grade I winner Wise Dan is slated to have his lone serious move in advance of next month's Breeders' Cup World Championships at Keeneland on Saturday. Lopresti added that Wise Dan, the likely favorite for the $2 million Breeders' Cup Mile, is scheduled to ship to Santa Anita Park on Oct. 30. "He's really good right now," Lopresti said.

■ Team Valor's Animal Kingdom, winner of the 2011 Kentucky Derby, is on track to ship to Keeneland next week and have a work over the track next Friday in advance of his start in the Breeders' Cup Mile. The champion son of Leroidesanimaux hasn't started since taking an allowance race over the turf in February.

■ Richard, Bertram and Elaine Klein's Beijoca, last in the early going, powered by the leaders just inside the eighth pole to win the featured $52,000 Mineola Purse for fillies and mares by 21/4 lengths over Archetype on Wednesday. Trained by Steve Margolis and ridden by Shaun Bridgmohan, Beijoca covered the 1½ miles on a firm turf course in 2:34.16.
