Final furlong

■ Ken McPeek, the leading trainer at Keeneland for the last three Fall Meets, scored his first win of the meet when he saddled I'm Your Luv to victory in the day's fourth race.

The race was marred however when Save the World, a 3-year-old Pulpit filly owned by Patchen Wilkes Farm, broke down on the second turn.

Save the World was euthanized with a severe fracture of fetlock and disarticulation of cannon bone, according to Dr. Bryce Peckham.

Jockey John McKee was taken off via ambulance but was able to walk to the jockey's room. McKee was icing his right wrist and had a laceration on his head.

Six Strong Lady, who collided with the stricken Save the World, was unharmed as was her rider Amanda Tamburello.

■ Stablemates Atigun and Golden Ticket, two 3-year-olds trained by McPeek, each worked 5 furlongs under Danny Ramsey. Atigun, who is pointed at the $500,000 Breeders' Cup Marathon on Nov. 2, was clocked in 1:01.60.

Golden Ticket, dead-heat winner of the Travers, was clocked in 1:02.40. The Speightstown colt is a candidate for the $5 million Breeders' Cup Classic on Nov. 3.
