Blue-White Game, 'All-Access Kentucky' go head-to-head (see preview clips)

Published: October 23, 2012

The Kentucky men's basketball team will take the floor publicly three more times before its season opener Nov. 9 against Maryland.

Wednesday night's Blue-White Game offers fans their first look at the 2012-13 Wildcats in a competitive situation.

Next come exhibitions against Northwood (Fla.) on Nov. 1 and versus Transylvania on Nov. 5 in Rupp Arena.

The Wildcats unveil almost a completely new roster in the wake of last season's national championship and the departure of six players to the NBA.

Fans will have to make the choice between all new and All-Access on Wednesday night.

The Blue-White Game, televised live on Fox Sports South and WKYT-27, airs at the same time — 7 p.m. — as the second episode of ESPN's new show about UK basketball, All-Access Kentucky (see preview clips below).

Lacking a DVR, viewers can catch a repeat of Wednesday's All-Access episode at 9 p.m. on ESPNU and 10:30 p.m. on ESPN.

Coach John Calipari also wanted to take care of the fans in Rupp Arena, and tweeted this week that the first and second episodes of All-Access will be shown in the arena after the Blue-White Game.

UK spokesman Dewayne Peevy said the conflict was unavoidable. Tickets to the Blue-White Game were sold before UK and ESPN reached agreement on the TV series.
