The Eastern Kentucky University men's rugby team was placed on interim suspension because of an alleged hazing incident, the university announced in a news release Tuesday.

The rugby team, a registered student organization, is not to hold or host any functions including social functions, practices or games while school's Hazing Investigation Committee investigates, the release said. The team is a registered student organization at EKU.

The release did not include details on when or what the alleged hazing was, or whether anyone was injured. Messages left with university spokesman Marc Whitt were not immediately returned Tuesday night.
