Mother of five needs help with electric bill

October 24, 2012

Leslie Calk, a case manager at one of the Family Recourse Centers in the Fayette County Public Schools, submitted a request for a single mother of five who needs $750 to pay a past-due electric bill.

She is employed as a certified nursing assistant at a local home care facility where she has worked for more than five months covering 11-hour shifts on weekends.

She and the family now live in Section I housing. Once the past-due bill is paid she will be able to maintain the household from her earnings, Supplemental Social Insurance benefits one of her children receives, food stamps and the monthly child support from the children's father.
