Woodford County notes: Free appraisal of antiques offered at library in Versailles

Local antiques expert Ron Wells will appraise antiques at the main branch of the Woodford County Library, 115 North Main Street, Versailles, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 30. Participants may bring one item to have evaluated and appraised for free. Knives, guns, stamps and coins are not allowed. Call (859) 873-5191 to sign up for the free program.

Forum for Versailles council candidates Oct. 29

A political forum featuring candidates for Versailles City Council will be held 5:30-8 p.m. Oct. 29 in the community room of the Woodford County Library's main branch, 115 North Main Street. The focus of the questions and comments will be on the role of city government in economic development issues and goals.

The forum is being organized and sponsored by Woodford Tomorrow, a committee of community volunteers whose purpose is to create collaboration among private citizens, businesses and organizations, and government agencies to develop and implement strategies to encourage sustainable economic development while preserving what is unique about Woodford County.
