Bourbon man charged in carjacking, robbery in Grant

October 25, 2012

A Bourbon County man was arrested and charged with kidnapping and other charges in connection with a carjacking and drugstore robbery in Grant County, Kentucky State Police said Thursday.

David Hager, 25, also faces robbery and auto theft charges, according to a news release from the Dry Ridge police post. Hager was arrested Wednesday after a suspicious person was reported at Cordova Road and U.S. 25 in southern Grant county.

He was taken to the Grant County Detention Center.

Hager is accused of robbing the Grant County Drug Store on Barnes Road on Wednesday. The robber wore two bandannas and a black hoodie while displaying a gun, according to the news release.

He was given the pills he demanded, and he left the store and got into a tan Oldsmobile Bravada. He drove west on Barnes Road, where the vehicle was later found, police said.

Hager allegedly obtained the Bravada by carjacking a woman shortly before the robbery, police said. He got into the vehicle, making the woman drive him around for about 10 minutes. He made her get out of the vehicle on Industrial Road before he went to the drug store, police said.
