It's time to dress the turkey

It's open season on turkeys for this year's Herald-Leader Dress the Turkey contest.

Rather than select a theme for this year's turkeys, we're asking readers to transform the turkey you see here into anything you'd like.

The best turkeys in the children's category, for ages 12 and younger, and the best creation in the adult category, ages 13 and older, will receive prizes from Kroger.

You must use this turkey as the basis for your creation, but there are no restrictions on materials or colors. Enlarged photocopies are acceptable, but anything larger than 8-by-10 inches will not be published. A PDF of this turkey is attached.

Mail your turkey to: Turkeys, Newsroom, Lexington Herald-Leader, 100 Midland Avenue, Lexington, Ky. 40508.

Or you may drop it off at the Herald-Leader's front desk from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Emailed and faxed entries will not be accepted. Include your name, age, address and a daytime phone number.

All entries must be received by noon Nov. 9. The most eye-catching turkeys will appear Nov. 21 in Life + Neighbors.
