A'dia Mathies

Vitals: The 5-foot-9 senior guard is from Louisville (Iroquois). Her major is psychology. She was born March 18, 1991.

The lowdown: Reigning SEC Player of the Year led the team in scoring (15.0), assists (2.7), steals (2.6) and three-point field goal percentage (37.8 percent). Quick, athletic guard is a matchup problem at every position she plays and can consistently create her own shot.

Bria Goss

Vitals: The 5-foot-10 sophomore guard is from Indianapolis. Her major is undecided. She was born Sept. 2, 1992.

The lowdown: The SEC's Freshman of the Year will try to build on her success from last season when she was second on the team in scoring with 11 points a game. Brings high energy on offense and defense, which is contagious for teammates. She started every game last season.

Azia Bishop

Vitals: The 6-foot-3 sophomore forward/center is from Toledo, Ohio. Her major is social work. She was born April 5, 1993.

The lowdown: Adds depth and dimension to Kentucky's sizable frontcourt. Long, lean player can run the floor well and has tremendous upside. Coaches want her to get more physical on both ends of the floor. Bishop led Cats in blocks last season with 31.

Maegan Conwright

Vitals: The 5-foot-8 junior guard is from Arlington, Texas. Her major is sociology. She was born June 4, 1992.

The lowdown: Versatile player who saw action at four different positions last season while averaging 4.2 points a game. She does a little bit of everything on the floor, and now one of UK's best on-ball defenders could end up being the Cats' key ballhandler.

Samantha Drake

Vitals: The 6-foot-3 junior forward/center is from Bardstown (Nelson County). Her major is kinesiology and health promotion. She was born Oct. 30, 1991.

The lowdown: Drake always seems to get playing time and likely will continue to do so even in UK's crowded post spot because of her physical presence and calm demeanor. Has excellent touch around the basket, hitting 52.6 percent of her shots last season.

Kastine Evans

Vitals: The 5-foot-8 junior guard is from Salem, Conn. Her major is business management. She was born June 6, 1992.

The lowdown: Not the strongest, fastest, biggest or most athletic player on the court, but she's always out there at key moments because of her hustle and leadership. Evans does a little bit of everything for UK, and her stats show it (7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.7 steals, 1.4 assists a game).

Brittany Henderson

Vitals: The 6-foot-2 senior forward is from Pasadena, Calif. Her major is hospitality management. She was born March 3, 1991.

The lowdown: A prototypical glue player who does a little bit of everything. One of only two seniors on the team, Henderson will be looked to for leadership on and off the court. Scrappy player will provide key depth at power forward position.

Jennifer O'Neill

Vitals: The 5-foot-6 sophomore guard is from Bronx, N.Y. Her major is kinesiology and health promotion. She was born April 19, 1990.

The lowdown: Was starting to find her rhythm and her shot in the later part of the 2010-11 season and then suffered a foot injury in the pre-season last fall, forcing her to sit out the season. Powerful, offensive-minded guard is leaner and quicker. Could be one of Cats' top shooters and may help out at point guard spot.

Bernisha Pinkett

Vitals: The 5-foot-7 junior guard is from Washington, D.C. Her major is family sciences. She was born Oct. 13, 1991.

The lowdown: Adds depth at Kentucky's guard positions, seeing action in 34 of UK's 35 games. Has the ability to change games with her speed and physical play. Coaches want her to get even more aggressive on the defensive end.

Jelleah Sidney

Vitals: The 6-foot-2 sophomore forward is from Queens Village, N.Y. Her major is social work. She was born April 23, 1991.

The lowdown: Chose UK over Syracuse after one season at Chipola Junior College and will have three seasons of eligibility left. Sidney led Chipola last season in scoring (11.8) and was second on team in rebounding (8.3) and steals (2.0). Athletic and speedy, Sidney will add depth to Cats' frontcourt.

DeNesha Stallworth

Vitals: The 6-foot-3 junior center is from Richmond, Calif. Her major is family sciences. She was born May 5, 1992.

The lowdown: Sat out last season under NCAA transfer rules after playing two seasons at California, where she was a two-year starter (13.3 ppg, 6.4 rpg). While sitting out, she transformed her body and could be a transformative player for the Cats this season. Expected to be a strong, physical presence inside.

Janee Thompson

Vitals: The 5-foot-7 freshman guard is from Chicago. Her major is journalism. She was born Oct. 6, 1993.

The lowdown: A speedy point guard who loves to push the ball and pester ballhandlers sounds like a match made in heaven with UK's system and style. Averaged 18.3 points, 5.5 assists and two steals a game to help her high school to undefeated season, a state title and a No. 2 national ranking.

Samarie Walker

Vitals: The 6-foot-1 junior forward is from West Carrollton, Ohio. Her major is merchandising, apparel and textiles. She was born Sept. 15, 1992.

The lowdown: Started to come into her own after sitting out the first semester last season after transferring from Connecticut. Averaged 13.3 points and 10.8 rebounds in NCAA Tournament play. UK's top returning rebounder and fourth leading scorer is explosive and physical.
