Lincoln woman dies in crash

November 8, 2012

A Lincoln County woman died Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash south of Lancaster, a news release from the Garrard County Sheriff's Office said.

Juanita Duvall, 67, of Crab Orchard was pronounced dead at the scene by Garrard County Coroner Daryl Hodge, the news release said.

Duvall was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Blazer north on Ky. 39 when the Blazer collided head-on with a 2006 Freightliner truck driven by Ivo Scherbing Jr., 22, also of Crab Orchard.

Scherbing was driving south when he lost control in a curve and the truck entered the northbound lane, the news release said.

A passenger in Duvall's Blazer, Ina C. Bullock, 70, of Stanford, was flown to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital in Lexington. She was listed in serious condition Thursday, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The crash happened shortly after 1:35 p.m. Wednesday about five miles south of Lancaster.
