A Knox County woman has been charged with killing a man in her care, according to Kentucky State Police.

Charlene Sue King, 49, of Barbourville, was charged with murder, according to a news release from state police.

Police went to a home in Barbourville at 12:26 a.m. Tuesday and found the homeowner dead from several gunshots, according to the news release.

King was the man's caregiver, police said.
