Louisville man charged with DUI after hitting pedestrian in Danville

A Louisville man was charged with driving under the influence after he allegedly struck a pedestrian in downtown Danville Sunday morning.

Danville Police said Samuel Medley, 20, of Louisville, was turning left shortly after 1 a.m. onto Main Street from Maple Street when he struck Anthony Brown, 18, of Berea, who was walking in the crosswalk.

Brown was struck in the lower extremities and thrown onto the windshield of Medley's 2007 Honda Civic. Brown was taken to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center with injuries that were not believed to be life threatening.

Medley, who was not injured, was arrested and lodged in the Boyle County jail.
