Three men broke into a Lexington apartment and fired shots during an apparent robbery attempt Sunday night.
No one was hit by gunfire. A man in the apartment was cut on the arm with a knife while fighting the intruders, Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.
There were two adults and four children inside, Roberts said.
The robbery happened about 11:46 p.m. at an apartment on East Loudon Avenue. The men who kicked in the door were wearing ski masks. One had the gun and another had the knife.
After a brief struggle with the resident, one of the suspects fired three shots and they all left the apartment. Police had not found them Monday.
