The Bluegrass Community Health Center is collecting backpacks filled with personal-care items for the homeless.

The backpacks can be taken to the organization's Lexington clinic at 1306 Versailles Road, Suite 120.

Bluegrass Community Health Center has federal funding to provide health services to the homeless. The group will collect backpacks and supplies until Dec. 11; they'll be delivered to the Catholic Action Center on Dec. 12, said Donna Agee, clinic manager.

Needed items include socks, hand sanitizer, gloves, dental-care products, and lotion.
