Man is injured after fleeing from police into Interstate traffic

Published: November 24, 2012

Kentucky State Police say a 21-year-old man was hit by a car late Friday while trying to escape them on Interstate 64 near Mount Sterling.

A trooper stopped Steven Reilly on the interstate at 8:19 p.m. after seeing him drive a 1998 Kawasaki motorcycle "at a high rate of speed," police said.

Reilly then fled on foot into traffic in the eastbound lane, and he was hit by a 2007 Honda Odyssey.

Reilly was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital in Lexington, where he was listed in serious but stable condition.
