Nicholasville woman dies from injuries in weekend crash

A Nicholasville woman who was thrown from her vehicle in a two-car crash Sunday died early Monday.

Rebecca Guy, 32, was driving on Ky. 152 in Garrard County when another car turned onto the road from U.S. 27, according to a news release from the Fayette County coroner's office.

Guy's vehicle hit the other car, spun and overturned multiple times, ejecting her from the vehicle, the release said.

Guy was transported to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital. She underwent emergency surgery and was placed under intensive care, but her condition "continued to decline and care was withdrawn," the release said.

Guy was pronounced dead at 12:27 a.m. Monday, about 7 1/2 hours after the wreck.
