Clark County notes: Join Empty Bowls fight against hunger

Winchester Empty Bowls 2012 will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church at Windridge Drive and the bypass in Winchester.

Guests are served soup in a handmade bowl in exchange for a $15 cash donation. Proceeds will go to Clark County Community Services to help fight hunger. Guests are allowed to keep the handmade bowl as a reminder of the meal's purpose. Bowls have been made and donated by Joe Molinaro and other area potters.

Holiday events at museum

The Bluegrass Heritage Museum, 217 South Main Street in Winchester, will offer the following events this holiday season: Deck the Halls runs from noon-4 p.m. Monday-Saturday through Dec. 29. Admission is $5; guests can enjoy music from the Backroom Bluegrass Band from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 15.
