Clark County notes: Join Empty Bowls fight against hunger

Winchester Empty Bowls 2012 will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church at Windridge Drive and the bypass in Winchester.

Guests are served soup in a handmade bowl in exchange for a $15 cash donation. Proceeds will go to Clark County Community Services to help fight hunger. Guests are allowed to keep the handmade bowl as a reminder of the meal's purpose. Bowls have been made and donated by Joe Molinaro and other area potters.

Property taxes due Dec. 7

For Clark County property owners, the due date for property tax bills is Dec. 7. Those who have not received their property tax bills should call (859) 744-1660 or visit to view their bill online.

Holiday events at museum

The Bluegrass Heritage Museum, 217 South Main Street in Winchester, will offer the following events this holiday season: Deck the Halls runs from noon-4 p.m. Monday-Saturday through Dec. 29. Admission is $5; guests can enjoy music from the Backroom Bluegrass Band from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 15.
