Judge delays sentencing in Lexington murder case

November 30, 2012

Three men who pleaded guilty in October to murder were to be sentenced Friday in Fayette Circuit court, but the sentencing was rescheduled for Dec. 14.

Daniel Gadson, 30; Elzandrae Warren, 29; and Montrevell Lewis, 18, all pleaded guilty Oct. 23 to murder in the shooting death of Darryl Delano Carter, 22.

Carter was tied up and shot in a townhome in Lexington's Woodhill neighborhood in November 2010. All three defendants admitted that they were in the townhouse when Carter was killed, but none admitted to pulling the trigger.

Attorneys for the defendants told Fayette Circuit Judge Kimberly Bunnell that they had received pre-sentence investigation reports too late to go over the reports with their clients.
