Man in critical condition after fight at Waffle House in Lexington

Published: December 6, 2012

A man was in critical condition at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital after a fistfight Thursday at a Waffle House in Lexington.

Police were called to the restaurant at 1000 Georgetown Road about 2:55 a.m. about a disorder involving several people, police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.

Witnesses told police the man was eating with a friend before getting into a fight with five or six people. They assaulted him and ran before police arrived.

The victim, who was not named, had serious injuries from being punched and kicked, Roberts said. He was taken to the emergency room and later was listed in critical but stable condition, she said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Lexington police at (859) 258-3600.
