Jessamine County notes: Crafty teens invited to workshop

The Jessamine County Public Library will hold a Crafty Teen Workshop from 1-2:30 p.m. Dec. 15. Teens in grades 6 through 12 are invited to celebrate winter by making distinctive marbled paint ornaments, cinnamon-stick candles or both. All supplies provided. Donations, volunteers needed for 200 students

This year, 200 middle and high school students in Jessamine County will be able to shop for free gifts at the Jessamine County Christmas Store from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Dec. 19-21. The Christmas Store is located in the Nicholasville United Methodist Church, 303 West Maple Street.

Volunteers are needed and are encouraged to sign up at Jcchristmasstore.wordpress.com.

Donated items are being accepted in Jessamine County at Community Action, Central Bank, Wilmore Laundromat, Re/Max Elite, State Farm, East Middle School, and The Providence School. Items can be dropped off in Fayette County at Re/Max Creative on Pasadena Drive. All donations are tax-deductible.

Suggested items are lotions, soaps, socks, foam pellet guns, sports equipment, board games, stuffed animals, books, CDs, DVDs, make-up, jewelry and hoodies.
