The Fayette County coroner released Wednesday the name of the Georgetown teen killed in a head-on wreck.
Joe Lyninger, 19, died Tuesday when the 1996 Toyota Camry he was driving crossed the center line and struck a 2013 Freightliner truck head on, police said in a news release.
Lyninger had been traveling south on Georgetown Road near Spurr Road when the wreck happened about 12:45 p.m.
The coroner's office did not release Lyninger's name until his family was notified.
The driver of the truck, Uriah Burke, of Lexington, was not seriously hurt, police said.
The teen and Burke were wearing seat belts, the release said.
Georgetown Road at Spurr Road was closed for about four hours while police investigated.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call police at (859) 258-3600.
