Authorities are awaiting results from an autopsy Thursday on the body of a woman found on a Madison County rural road.
There were no obvious signs of injury, and a drug overdose is suspected, according to the Kentucky State Police post in Richmond.
A passerby spotted the body of Jessica Gentry, 33, of Berea, about 11 a.m. Wednesday beside a car parked at the end of Poosey Ridge Road near the Kentucky River, said Trooper Paul Blanton, the post's public information officer. The location is near a boat dock where the road ends at the river.
Blanton said evidence at the scene suggested that drug use had occurred.
Blanton said troopers hope that autopsy results can rule out trauma as a cause of death. He said it would be weeks before toxicology results can determine whether a drug overdose was involved.
