Pedestrian killed in Williamstown

WILLIAMSTOWN — A Union man was killed by a car as he walked along a road, according to Kentucky State Police.

Shelia Ray of Williamstown was driving on KY 36 about 8 p.m. Saturday when her car struck William Bowling, 53 of Union as he walked on the side the road, according to a news release. Police said Ray was unable to avoid Bowling because of oncoming traffic.

Bowling was flown to the University of Cincinnati Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said Ray was not under the influence of any alcohol at the time of the collision, but it remains under investigation.
