2 men indicted in fatal shooting outside Lexington nursing home

Published: December 18, 2012

Two men were indicted by a grand jury Monday in their alleged involvement in a fatal shooting outside a nursing home in October.

Maurice Ward Jr. was indicted for murder in the death of Anthoney Carol Beaumont, 31. Beaumont was shot during a disorder in the parking lot of Northpoint/Lexington Health Care Center on Trent Boulevard Oct. 2.

Delvagio Christopher Lax, a former Kentucky State University basketball player, was indicted for criminal facilitation for allegedly providing Ward "with the means or opportunity for the commission of the murder," according to the indictment. Lax also was charged with being a persistent felony offender.

Ward allegedly shot Beaumont, police have said, and Lax drove him away from the scene.
