The University of Kentucky men's basketball team had a successful first semester in the classroom, Coach John Calipari said Tuesday.
"Midterm grades are in," Calipari posted on his Twitter account. "The team had nearly a 3.1 grade-point average with eight guys posting a B average or better.
"Really proud to coach kids with high aspirations both on and off the court."
The team's GPA for the fall semester approaches that of the 3.12 put up by the Wildcats last spring and exceeds the 2.71 posted by last season's team in the fall.
