An Ashland teenager was killed in a two-vehicle wreck in Greenup County on Wednesday, state police said in a news release.
The initial investigation indicates Nathaniel Nickell, 18, pulled from a side road onto Ky. 67 and into the path of a 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck being driven by Joyce Callahan, 70, of Olive Hill, according to a news release.
Callahan hit Nickell's 1992 Honda in the side and both vehicles went off the road, state police said.
Nickell was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from his car. He was pronounced dead at Our Lady of Bellfonte Hospital.
Alcohol or drugs appear to have been a factor in the wreck, police said.
Callahan and a passenger, 55-year-old Freda Rivers, were taken to a West Virginia hospital and were in fair condition, according to the release.
The wreck happened at 12:27 p.m. Wednesday.
