The driver of a Ford Taurus faces endangerment charges after a high-speed wreck that injured her passengers.

Rachel Baynham was driving a Ford Taurus that collided with a pickup truck about 9:30 a.m. Monday at East Loudon and Shropshire avenues, police said in a news release. Witnesses told police the Taurus was traveling at high speed north on Shropshire and ran a stop sign, the news release said.

After the crash, the Taurus spun into a utility pole and careened into a house at 413 East Loudon. Baynham's front-seat passenger was critically injured, police said. There were three passengers in Baynham's Taurus.

Baynham was charged with three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment. Other charges were pending, police said.

The driver of the pickup was not seriously hurt, police said.

Toxicology tests were pending to determine whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the wreck. Everyone wore seat belts except for one passenger in Baynham's car, the news release said.
