Lexington police were looking for the person who fired a gun into a home occupied by two adults and several children on Tuesday.
The shooting happened at a house on Gerald Drive off Winburn Drive just before, Lt. Chris Young said. Nobody was hurt, he said.
It appeared that someone fired one shot through the door of the home about 5:30 p.m. Young said he "couldn't comfortably say" what led up to the shooting.
Police were following several leads, he said, but had not made an arrest Tuesday night.
It was the second shooting investigated by police Tuesday.
Earlier in the afternoon, someone fired several shots into a parked car on Trent Circle. Nobody was hit; it was unclear whether anyone was in the car at the time, Young said.
