Its an extra day off for one Fayette County school: There will be no school on Wednesday for students at Russell Cave Elementary, the Fayette County Public Schools announced on its website on New Years Day.
According to spokeswoman Lisa Deffendall, the school has an electrical problem that forced the district to extend the holiday break by a day.
Were having to cancel classes tomorrow while a contractor works to correct the problem, she said. The goal is to have students return on Thursday, she said.
All other schools will be open, Deffendall said.
