Lexington: A Stanton man involved in a single-car crash in Lexington on Dec. 22 has died. Harold Pookie Hughes, 66, died about 9:55 a.m. Tuesday in University of Kentucky Medical Center.
He had been in intensive care there since an accident on Versailles Road at New Circle Road almost two weeks earlier.
On Dec. 22, Mr. Hughes car suddenly veered across oncoming traffic and struck a tree. Passersby stopped and performed CPR until an ambulance arrived. According to the Fayette County Coroners office, cause of death was anoxic brain injury.
