Former University of Kentucky quarterback and graduate assistant coach Andre Woodson has been named wide receivers coach at Morehead State, Coach Rob Tenyer announced on Twitter on Friday.
Woodson will be a full-time assistant for the Eagles, who play in the Football Championship Subdivision. He worked with UKs quarterbacks as a graduate assistant this past season.
Tenyer, a longtime assistant at Morehead State, replaced Matt Ballard as head coach last month.
Morehead State finished 4-7 in 2012.
Woodson, a native of Radcliff, Ky., played at UK from 2004-07. The three-year starter totaled 9,360 yards passing with 79 touchdowns. He earned All-Southeastern Conference honors twice.
In 2008, Woodson was drafted in the sixth round by the NFLs New York Giants and later was signed by the Washington Redskins.
He returned to UK in 2011 to work on his bachelors degree in community communications and leadership development.
