One person was killed and three others were injured in a car wreck in Woodford County on Wednesday.
Versailles police said a Pontiac Grand Am carrying four adults was headed west on Dry Ridge Road, near Shannon Run Road, when it left the pavement and hit a tree.
Police had not released the identities of the victims Wednesday night.
A passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, Versailles police Lt. Daniel Clark said.
Another passenger was airlifted to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital with life-threatening injuries, he said. The driver and a third passenger were taken to UK by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the driver lost control of the car as it crested a hill. Investigators had not determined Wednesday whether alcohol or speed played a role in the crash, and Clark said he could not say if the occupants were wearing seat belts.
A passerby reported the wreck just before 5 p.m., he said.
