Two EKU players in college football all-star games

Published: January 10, 2013

Eastern Kentucky University seniors Aaron Adams and Tyrone Goard will be playing in a pair of college football all-star games this month.

Adams will play in the Casino del Sol College Football All-Star Game in Tucson, Ariz., on Friday at 9 p.m. He is one of two Ohio Valley Conference players on the East roster.

Goard will play in the East-West Shrine Game in St. Petersburg, Fla., on Jan. 19 at 4 p.m. He is the only OVC player on either roster and will suit up for the West team. The game will be televised live on the NFL Network.

Adams, a native of Lake Worth, Fla., was a two-time first team All-Ohio Valley Conference offensive lineman. This season, Adams helped the Colonels rank second in the OVC and 20th nationally in rushing yards per game (205.8 ypg) on the way to earning second team All-America honors from The Sports Network.

Goard, from Charleston, W.Va., was one of the top wide receivers in the OVC the past two years. He posted four 100-yard receiving games as a senior including a 175-yard, four-touchdown game against UT Martin on Sept. 29. He leaves Eastern ranked among the school's top 10 in career receiving yards (1,842) and touchdown catches (24).
